DELF Prim is intended for children who are undertaking studies in primary school.

There are 4 tests in total:
  • 3 group tests with other candidates in the same room
  • 1 individual test in which each candidate is alone in a room with the examiners.
Group Tests
  • Listening comprehension / 3 exercises
  • Answer comprehension questions on three or four very short audio recordings
 20 minutes
  • Reading comprehension / 4 exercises
  • Answer comprehension questions on four or five written texts
 30 minutes
  • Writing skills / 2 exercises
  • Fill in a form and write a short text of 40 words.
 30 minutes
Individual test
  • Speaking skills / 3 parts
  • Guided interview / Asking and giving information/ simulated dialogue
 5 - 7 minutes
  • Each test is marked out of 25 points.
  • Passing mark: minimum 50 / 100
  • Minimum mark required per test: 5 / 25

Registrations for the DELF Prim May 2026 session will open in January 2026.

Candidates must register via our Online Registration System (Plateforme des examens).
